Thank you for the many ways you, your children, and our amazing PTO made us feel special during Teacher Appreciation Week and throughout the year.  The past few years have been difficult for us all with the extra health concerns, new and constantly changing procedures, and attempting to make the new normal…normal. What has not changed are the wonderful children that come to us each day, the supportive parents always asking how they can help, and everyone working together to provide the best education possible. Please know we are thankful for you each and every day and could not do what we do without you!

WORD WORK: This week our class will be learning about adding -ed and -ing endings to words.   Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to access the Unit 22 practice list for the week.

BOOK ORDER:  It’s a great time to stock up on books for summer.  I will be sending the paper fliers on Tuesday.   The order for Scholastic will be due on May 18th. Let me know if you have any questions.  Thank you!

Warm Weather Water Bottles:  This coming week promises to get warm.  Please help your child stay hydrated by sending in a water bottle each day. Please remember our drinking fountains are not accessible at this time.

DISINFECTANT WIPES: We are in our last month of school and greatly appreciate all the supplies you have sent in during the year.  Our class could use a few more containers of disinfectant wipes to get us through the home stretch.  Thank you for your contributions.

Lory’s Place Run, Walk, Rock:  The 17th annual Run, Walk, and Rock to support Lory’s Place is coming up on May 21st.   It is a fantastic family event that supports the services of Lory’s Place.  If you are not aware, Lory’s Place, named after a former Lincoln parent, is a wonderful grief center that is active in our school as well as 56 other schools in our area helping children who have had someone special in their life die.  You can register here
